During the weekend of March 8-10th, our DECA team competed at the State DECA competition. If students place 4th or 5th (depending on their competitive area), they qualify for the International DECA competition, which is in Anaheim this year. Morgyn Ricker and Skylar Sherman advanced to the finals and then Skylar placed 4th, which earned her a spot at Nationals.
In addition, earlier in the year Averie Tiell and Gulmaro Vargas-Tovias competed in a competition called School-Based Enterprise. They were given topics to write about as it related to our store. They had to receive "Gold" to be able to compete at the International competition. In February we found out that they earned a spot by earning "Gold".
Skylar, Averie, and Gulmaro will be headed to Anaheim, CA April 27 - May 1 to represent Fostoria and Ohio in their respective competitions.
